EXHIBITION

the newly reconstructed Baroque Clam-Gallas Palace on Mariánské náměstí in Prague will host the exhibition Josef Mysliveček, detto Il Boemo (1737-1781), introducing visitors to the composer's life and works and presenting him as an international figure of European history and culture. Apart from Mysliveček himself, the exhibition will also touch on the lives of his collaborators and contemporaries, famous singers and other composers, including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Christoph Willibald Gluck.

Visitors will be introduced to the genre of Italian opera seria (serious opera), to which Mysliveček devoted himself the most and which brought him fame, offering them ways to listen to Italian opera seria and appreciate its emotional power and depth again today.

The exhibition includes selected costumes from the film Il Boemo, created in line with authentic period methods, and an exclusive screening of Mysliveček's brilliant arias shot with the most illustrious of contemporary vocalists in period costumes and theatrical sets, and by candlelight.

The exhibition is for all those who would like to learn more about Mysliveček's life and times based on their experience of the film and for classical music lovers in general.
There is also a special tour for schools.
